Europiella angulata (Uhler) - dissected - Europiella angulata - male

Europiella angulata (Uhler) - dissected - Europiella angulata - Male
Deming, Luna County, New Mexico, USA
November 9, 2018
Size: 3.6 mm to apex of wings
Here is the vesica (=intromittent organ) with the phallotheca and most of the pygophore wall removed from around it. The two short, sclerotized teeth at the apex, one pointing out and the other bent down at about a 90 degree angle, are important characters for this species. A couple other species have similar-looking structures, but can be separated by other characters.
