dead Giant Leopard Moth - ventral view

dead Giant Leopard Moth - ventral view
Salem Sound, Essex County, Massachusetts, USA
July 12, 2018
Size: Closer to 1" than 2"
This moth presumably has died after breeding... and egg laying.
I would appreciate knowing if this is a female or male.
Based on it's size, I believe it to be a female. It was closer to 1" long rather than 2".
Thank you!
