Narrow Waisted Wasp
I wonder now if I haven't sent you another Pachodynerus erynnis. I'm seeing more of these red/black critters, but, until now, none seemed to have a narrow waist like this one. Is this species sexually dimorphic by any chance?
Also, I'm wondering if the brilliant red Jatropha blooms have cast a red onto what might ordinarily be ORANGE. Could this be a Stenodynerus fundatiformis or similar species? There is something about this wasp that makes it look different from the P. erynnis I sent in a few weeks ago.

I don't know if it's dimorphic...
...but I suspect the difference you're seeing in the waists is a function of camera angle and the insect's posture. Let's see what the experts have to say.
