Maybe not S. xyloni
Though I moved the larger one to that species, I'm having my doubts, and suspect this is what was called "dark aurea" in a recent paper. It is a xyloni-looking population, genetically distinct from both aurea and xyloni, apparently.

You are most likely right
AntWiki describes
S. xyloni
as: "These ants are aggressive with a painful sting.", which was not my experience when I encountered them. I purposely allowed them to climb onto my hands and sting me. Their stings were some of the least painful (if not the mildest) sting of fire ants. The
S. xyloni
that I've found before had a painful sting indeed.
