spider - Araneus thaddeus - male

spider - Araneus thaddeus - Male
Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
August 13, 2016
This immature spider constructed a "corral" on the soffit of the house. Since it was so far from the camera, I didn't get a very good shot. The spider remained in that construction for days.

Moved
Moved from Orb Weavers.

Yes, this species will make the same construction
inside folded leaves only longer or deeper. This is a subadult male, but both genders will construct these lattice-like tubes. Not surprisingly, it is called the Lattice orbweaver, Araneus thaddeus
