Platystoechotes lineatus

Platystoechotes lineatus
Panorama Camp, Tulare County, California, USA
June 20, 1986
Size: 35 mm.
These large lacewings were emerging from the ground and crawling up the side of my friend's cabin. They make a silken cocoon in the soil. The larvae are down in the soil also.

I have cocoons, pupae and larval skins if anyone wants to work on these interesting neurops.

Nevermind
Nevermind, I see they're two genus on the info page... they were so similar I wasn't sure

They are similar in the pictu
They are similar in the pictures, but they are quite different when seen side by side. Platystoechotes is much more robust.

Platy or Poly
Did you mean POLYstoechotes or PLATYstoechotes?
