Browntail Moth - Euproctis chrysorrhoea - Male
Cormierville (Cocagne) 46.389259, -64.618636, Kent County, New Brunswick, Canada
July 13, 2018
Attracted to light at my house surrounded by shrubs, old field habitat and mixed forest.

Introduced from Europe to Massachusetts in 1897; quickly widened its range throughout New England and eastern Canada but then declined to remnant population on Cape Cod and coastal islands in Maine (info from BugGuide).

Pohl et als (2018) list it as extinct from Canada since the 1940's.
