Explanation of Names
Compsolechia crescentifasciella (Chambers, 1874): the true identity of crescentifasciella is currently unknown; its placement in the genus Compsolechia has consequently been retained. The designation of USNM Type No. 447 (USNMENT00834895) as the "holotype" of crescentifasciella is erroneous (Mark Metz, pers. comm., 2024). This species is apparently confused with Anacampsis comparanda (Meyrick, 1929) in collections. Whether the two names represent the same species is a question for future study.
