I recently posted a pic of Manduca sexta seen on the same Datura plant on the same day as this one. I assumed this one was also M. sexta but I noticed the horn is green, even with a tinge of blue at the base. The previous one had a distinctly red horn. Don't know how important that character is, but I thought I would check.

Here's one (all the way from Texas) that looks very similar.
Manduca sexta: Perhaps this is a quality that is seen, only right after a molting cycle. (maybe):
