Size: 6” long
I think this is a shield or leaf footed bug. My husband actually found it in the auto shop he works at and picked it up since it was struggling to turn over. He works at a Honda dealership and thought it might be from another area that somehow got here from a car.

Yes, this is primarily an eastern US species, but its range can extend as far west as AZ. It's definitely a long way from where it was originally.
