Pterostichus tristis

Pterostichus tristis
Tippecanoe County, Indiana, USA
April 2, 2007
Size: 13 mm
Pterostichus tristis. No dorsal setae on elytra. Hind tarsal segment 1 with definite external ridge.

Pterostichus tristis
is the correct spelling. I came across your image in the course of my commenting on the same species submitted by Tom Murray.

Thanks Peter.

May I ask...
What you're using to ID these Pterostichus? I'm stuck with a bunch of them myself...

Downie and Arnett, see here. Maybe not up to date, but helpful.

I see - thanks!
I'll see if I can find some copies at the University of Guelph Library.
