Size: 4 mm
Have no idea if this is an insect larva or a crustacean. These guys were abundant on underwater aquatic vegetation in crystal clear spring runoff. This was in high mountain forests of the southern Cascades.

Pretty much has to be Yoraperla, but you can't see the characters in this photo. I've taken two species at that site.

Other stoneflies
There are some other interesting stonefly species in that spring. Namely, there are a couple Isoperla species there which aren't found in too many other places. There are cool caddisfly species there, too.
