Ichneumonid - Megarhyssa - male

Ichneumonid - Megarhyssa - Male
Tippecanoe County, Indiana, USA
May 7, 2007
Size: 32 - 33 mm
A male Megarhyssa. Can species be determined? Abdomen largely brown, no yellow spots except under first two segments.

A number of these were underneath a large log in a sunny field. Found them by gently poking with a stick under the log until they flew out. Found a horntail wasp next to the same log later in the year.
