I just don't see this long glossy bodied, simply veined wings, species often. Probably just not common in my backyard!

Well, I have plenty of compost, and rotting things
And I can say that there is a dazzling display of tiny flies around the house. But this one is one of the better looking ones...And probably 4mm or more in length (just a guess)!

This is actually my first fly of this family that has been identified!

...looks like Tephrochlamys, female (going on abdomen shape)?
