Diarsia rosaria - female

Diarsia rosaria - Female
Iron Springs Bog Scientific and Natural Area, Clearwater County, Minnesota, USA
June 29, 2011
Size: FW ~ 14 mm.
Came to BL in conifer bog. Laid eggs which I reared (on meadowsweet) but have so far been unable to get decent scans of the caterpillar slides. The live adult photo is not sharp but seems useable at this scale. I (again) long mistook this for Xestia oblata but the terminal band and hindwings are gray rather than yellow.

I'm convinced
On page 38 of MONA fascicle 27.3 (1998) Lafontaine states: "Adults usually can be recognized at a glance, despite considerable individual variation, by the contrastingly dark terminal area of the forewing." Further, my images match well with others in the pale yellowish subterminal band. And it is range and habitat consistent.
