March 22, 2018: driving a back gravel road in central Iowa, saw last year's flowering stems of Yuccas in the road ditch. Had to have some.
March 27, 2018: sorted through the stems, some were so badly pecked that there wasn't any life left in them,

divided the rest of the stems into several rearing jars, cut a few stems open, 3 larvae

May 13, 2018: first moth (of many) emerged from the stems
