If your bring your image into your favorite image editor, like Microsoft Picture Manager, and bring the luminosity and contrast up a bit, you will notice the color on the pronotum's sides. This is a female, also.

Dytiscidae
kinda dark image but others more familiarity with this family can probably take it further. Off-hand looks like one of the striated Dytiscus species.
