Cynipidae galls on Compass Plant - Antistrophus laciniatus
Plymouth Rock, Winneshiek County, Iowa, USA
September 8, 2018
August 31, 2018: collected seed of Compass Plant, Silphium laciniatum, from a planted prairie
September 8, 2018: scattering the above seed on another prairie planting found these galls, put them into a jar
September 15, 2018: alas, no gall wasps, rather 3 parasitoids (Ormyridae, Ormyrus sp.)

December 2018: double checking refrigerated rearing jars, 11 dead wasps (Ormyridae, Ormyrus sp.), they must have emerged close to the September date
