Identification

Range
Eastern Newfoundland to western British Columbia; north to Atlin, BC and Hopedla, Labrador, and according to RIndge (1963), south to Conejos County, Colorado (K.B.Bolte, 1990)
Season
adults from mid-June to mid-July. Larvae from mid-July, and according to Prentice (1963), to early September. Pupae hibernate (McGuffin 1958). (K.B. Bolte, 1990)
Food
A few collections have been made from Picea glauca (Moench) Voss, Picea mariana (Mill.) B.S.P., and Picea engelmannii Parr (McGuffin 1958; Prentice 1963; CNC). (K.B. Bolte, 1990)
Remarks
The external features of the adult E. casloata are not very useful in separating them from other species in the fletcherata group. (K.B. Bolte, 1990)
