Andrena bee - Andrena - female

Andrena bee - Andrena - Female
Ludwig Prairie Preserve, Winneshiek County, Iowa, USA
June 27, 2018
Size: 10 mm
This looks similar to the hawthorn Andrena I photographed on a different prairie a month earlier in the season, and I'm sorry if it is A. crataegi again, but this bee seems to have more brown hair on its body even though there is still very sparse light banding on its abdomen. I'm not sure how long the flight season lasts for individual Andrena species.

Thanks so much for taking the time to narrow down this Andrena bee, John! I could find a few good photos of A. hilaris (prayer-tail mining bee) from the USGS Bee Inventory and saw many similarities, though I also saw there are 25 other similar-looking species in the Melandrena subgenus.
