I collected this beetle at 34°51'59.1N 112°04'08.7W, 3559 ft, using a Berlese funnel with mossy clay from the bank of Sycamore Creek near Parsons Trl. (144), Coconino Nat'l Forest, Clarkdale 7.5' quadrangle, Yavapai Co., Arizona.

The images linked here suffice to identify the genus and species of this beetle based on the keys of Wooldridge 1975(1) and Wooldridge 1981(2), respectively. The eyes and mouthparts are concealed for the primary specimen shown, so the last two images are of the decapitated head of second specimen.

This image is from a Helicon Focus processed stack of 333 images with a 3.1 µm step taken with a Mitutoyo BD Plan APO 20X/0.42 ∞/0 mm microscope objective + Nikon 135 mm F2.8 AIS telephoto lens + Nikon D810 camera (magnification 13.5×; technique described here).
