Entomobryomorpha - Entomobrya atrocincta

Entomobryomorpha - Entomobrya atrocincta
Packwood, Lewis County, Washington, USA
January 7, 2019
Size: 1-2mm
This looks to me like Entomobrya nivalis. They have been in one localized area on a garage wall. At night adjacent to a conifer/deciduous woodlot.

Entomobrya atrocincta female
Sexually dimorphic species. Check for the orange males.

I'll keep my eyes peeled!
Do they possibly have different behavior? I've seen a lot of females over 2 weeks or more but no males yet.

You ...
should find them together in a population. If you cannot find even 1 male, then E. atrocincta could be a misIDy and then it could be the lookalike nondimorphic E. multifasciata.
