eggs on Whtie Oak

eggs on Whtie Oak
Jefferson County Park, Jefferson County, Iowa, USA
July 26, 2018
July 25, 2018: collected eggs on Oak
July 31, 2018: larvae all emerged and ate every single spent egg
August 9, 2018: still lots of live larvae, growing very slowly,
August 20, 2018: larvae are all dying, they've had plenty of fresh oak leaves
WHY didn't I try different foods? Because they ate a good bit of the original oak leaf. Next time.
