Blue Elongate Springtail - Vertagopus arboreus? - Vertagopus arboreus
Washougal, Clark County, Washington, USA
December 30, 2018
Size: 2mm
The detail I captured of this individual is considerably better than that of the individual I previously submitted which you ID'd as Vertagopus arboreus. Is this the same species?

Vertagopus arboreus
Indeed, Wendy. With nice iridescent blue colours. This species does not have scales (that produce iridisation effects in e.g. Tomocerinae). The blue iridisation is produced by a relative thick wax layer with which the cuticula is covered.

Thank you, Frans!
It is a very cool springtail!
