I didn't catch the similarity
I didn't catch the similarity with the one from yesterday, sorry!
Is this the one that mauls my Norway maples?

I have never seen leaf mines on Norway maples
There is a record in the literature of this species being reared from Norway maple
but generally the native leafminers stick to native maples. Are you sure you're seeing leaf mines and not the
fungus
?

I'll see if I have a picture.
I'll see if I have a picture. The leaves get lots of about 2-cm diameter blotches with black centers.
I could only find this one picture from August. They usually are the last maples to drop their leaves, in October sometimes.
Oh drat. the pertinent comments and the picture is in the next upload.
