Brown bug egg sac
lakeland, polk County, Florida, USA

Size: 20 mm x 8 mm
Found these inside an old towel on our back porch. Brown with spongy, sticky coating. Cut one open and it looked like some kind of a beetle shell - see last picture

Tiger moth - now I wish I hadn't cut one open!

Tiger moth cocoon
Not an egg sac. The caterpillar makes the cocoon out of its own body hairs and then pupates inside. The object inside was the pupa.
