Leucaniini? - Benjaminiola colorada

Leucaniini? - Benjaminiola colorada
Little Round Valley, Mono County, California, USA

Thanks Steve, now we know why the PM dots are missing. Also, the two dark lines on the thorax don't seem to fit in Mythimna. According to PNW MOTHS September is the expected flight season and the range reaches down to southern California.

I'm not sure if I tagged you appropriately but I just uploaded a possible Benjaminiola colorada observation posted under the same name if you you wouldn't mind taking a look. Thanks & thanks with regard to this observation and all the others!

Nope

habitat?
Not sure if either of you noticed, but the image Bob referenced below was recently moved to Benjaminiola colorada. According to PNW Moths, this is a desert wetlands species. I looked at aerial photography of the Little Round Valley and it appears to fit the bill. Plus, this image looks almost exactly like the moth at PNW Moths.

Owlet Moth
The Lesser Wainscot Moth should have three dark dots showing on the wings, but sometimes they don't seem to show up. I'm not sure why.
Mythimna oxygala: (widespread)
