Alates: 20mm in length with wings, 11-13mm without wings (non physogastric)
Soldiers: Around 20mm at largest
Range
The most widespread member of the genus: From Southern California, to Western Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Northwest Idaho and Montana and British Columbia. Northernmost recorded latitude at 53.3°N, Dunkley, BC.(1)(2)

Species introduced to and has become established in Kawanishi City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.
