Recomendations? I want to focus on one thing for a while.

What would be the most helpful use of my time? I feel like I’m not accomplishing anything lately. I let myself get too distracted visiting random areas. I know ID request gets neglected but I don’t feel like I’m accomplishing much when I start IDing a lot of common things that others are capable of IDing, or filing things for people who already know the ID. Would it be more beneficial if I focused on keeping Lycoside in order - filling out info pages and making range maps, or perhaps focus on some other more neglected family (open to suggestions), or continue to work on filling out the ranges for Linyphiidae (something I started but lost track of last summer because life got in the way), or sift through Araneae ... ?

We used to team up with Lynette
sending countless emails back and forth as we tried to clean up the images on Araneae. But since she got busy with school and stuff we haven't done a lot lately other than to offer possible IDs for images, trusting that you and Chad would curate the collection, making decisions on what to keep and where to place images. We have been focusing more on caterpillars lately where there has not been a lot of editor action. But we could certainly do more on moving spider images if that is what you would like us to do in order to free you up for filling out info pages. As Iustin said, you should do what interests you. We think it important that images get moved to species pages, but it sounds like that doesn't satisfy you, so don't spend your time doing it. Work on what you like. Let us know and we will try to do some of the other things that don't interest you. Thanks for all you do, especially with Lycosids.

Except for ...
The worst of the worst, shouldn’t it all be ”keep” anyway? If I’m reading the other discussion about frass right ... when BG 2.0 launches most of it is going to be reworked back into the Guide to salvage data anyway? If you’re sure you know what something is I would just file it.

I remember some of those emails, that’s how it was when I first started.

It all interests me - but that’s my problem, I find myself looking at everything and feeling like I’m not accomplishing anything because I’m looking at too many things at once.

I’ll tend to the back end of Araneae for now. If I make it to the beginning I’ll switch to one of the other things I mentioned if someone else doesn’t offer a better suggestion first.

.
Do what you like. Your life and your family should be on first.
Than, if you have time for BG, focus on what you can do the best and about you feel passionate the most.
By my opinion your work on Lycosidae is more than great!
I must to admit I don't know so much about your work on other fields of BG.
But if you feel the need to stay away for a while from Lycosidae do so. Or you feel a rising interest for some other field, do so, too.
On the other hand, your help and post the pictures of spiders from Leonard Vincent is a huge contribution for BG. These are spiders determinate by an expert based on specimens, not image-based determinate!

Thanks, I only focus ...
On spiders and enjoy them all so really I’m just looking for input as to adding info to which area would be the most helpful to other editors. A lot of people submit and attempt to ID Wolf Spiders, so adding info there would be helpful - for a while there were no editiors who were very comfortable with that family, but I think that situation has improved so I don’t know if it would be better if I instead filled out info for Linyphiidae which is an overwhelming family. Or clean up Araneae. Or if there is some other neglected area that really needs attention.
