Sorry, this is not the best photo, and I haven't had much luck in improving on it. We have thousands of these in our area every summer. They provide abundant food for the Endangered Hines Emerald Dragonflies and they also eat us. I had IDed this as Chrysops pikei. Am I close?

C. pikei has dark longitudina
C. pikei has dark longitudinal stripes on a yellowish abdomen. I have tendency to think this is C. callidus but I'm not 100%.
