Aphids, perhaps Aphis spiraecola, on Golden Alexanders, Zizia aurea

Moved
Moved from Aphids.

Kinda weird.
I see one freshly emerged alate towards the top, and if I zoom in is has dorsal stripes, which Aphis spiraecola would not have. Aphis asclepiadis is known to feed on this species as well and they tend to have some dorsal coloration but I don't think the apterae are bright orange with such dark cauda and siphunculi, that would be more indicative of Aphis spiraecola.

Thank you.
If I'm going to be taking photos of aphids, I need to pay closer attention, and take more photos.

You take such nice pictures!
Aphids are just so ridiculous. :)

When experts
are willing to give their time to BG (and everybody else as well), I like to photo enough views that there's a chance they can be ID'd. I just haven't quite gotten my head around the fact that aphids are cool too. Especially when they can be connected to specific plants.
