Caterpillar Seen in Same Place in September 2017 and 2018 - Lapara bombycoides

September 22, 2017
On September 22, 2017 I saw a green caterpillar with white stripes and a developing red stripe on the back. The head was basically flat and was red with yellow around the perimeter. Almost exactly a year later on September 18, 2018 I saw what appeared to be the same species crossing the same stretch of road. The specimen seen in 2018 had a more developed red stripe on the back. There are many pine trees on both sides of the road on which I found the caterpillars.
