Photobombing arthropod

Photobombing arthropod
Mission Viejo, Orange County, California, USA
January 18, 2019
Size: ~~ 2 mm
I photographed these minute yellow beads after it rained.
They appear to be yellow spot fungi (Nectria peziza).
I hadn't noticed the fauna until I looked at the image on a monitor.

Is the segmented creature on the left a beetle larva ?
It reminds me of some leaf beetle larva, but habitat (terrestrial wet (decaying) plant debris) and time of year (January) don't make sense ...

I have posted the springtails separately.

Moved from ID Request.

Maybe a carabid? I don't think there's enough of it visible for a better ID.

Thanks for your input, Charley.
Carabid larva makes sense.
