Oecanthinae (Tree Cricket), 2 eggs - Oecanthus
Plymouth Rock, Winneshiek County, Iowa, USA
February 11, 2018
February 1, 2018: collected stems of Compass Plant, Silphium laciniatum, in a planted prairie, again looking for gall wasps. Cut open stems.
Found yellow elongate eggs

Oecanthus egg
Similar insertion, length, style, color and note the white “cap” of egg to the left of the far right egg

This “cap” is on an Oecanthus forbesi egg.
But do other Oecanthus eggs have a similar cap?

Eggs didn’t make it
