K. Johnson re-evaluated specimens at the U of WI collection and determined it to be Pseudexentera cressoniana.

Was it dissected?
I would have thought your first guess was correct.

 
Not yet, but...
The specimen hasn't been dissected yet, but I hope to get to it in the next couple years (double-checking Psedexentera is a priority). I see sufficient variation in P. spoliana (based on sites north of the hickory zone in the Midwest) than I'm not confident separating out P. cressoniana on external appearance, but maybe I need to better study confirmed specimens of the latter. How are you separating these based on external appearance?
