. Thanks for the added info. I recalled a ventral view being needed for identification of these and wanted to make sure you knew what you were doing. You certainly seem to! I’ll flesh out this and the other guide page when I get the chance. It’s great to see some new crustaceans added to the guide!

morphological and genetic
While some of the keys for small Callinectes aren't the best I examined it morphologically and have a COI sequence. In NC, the common Callinectes are sapidus, similis, and ornatus, but several bocourti, exasperatus, and larvatus have been reported from SC/NC in the last two decades. It's clearly a Callincetes, but not similis, sapidus or the rarer species. I also collected some similis in the same sampling trip that i can upload as well, along with some Achelous (spinimanus and gibbesii).
