Moved
Moved from ID Request. Thanks for the added info. I recalled a ventral view being needed for identification of these and wanted to make sure you knew what you were doing. You certainly seem to! I’ll flesh out this and the other guide page when I get the chance. It’s great to see some new crustaceans added to the guide!

Since i ask about insects...
...figured i would add some things not listed here that i am more familiar with.

How identified?
Just checking before making the page.

morphological and genetic
While some of the keys for small Callinectes aren't the best I examined it morphologically and have a COI sequence. In NC, the common Callinectes are sapidus, similis, and ornatus, but several bocourti, exasperatus, and larvatus have been reported from SC/NC in the last two decades. It's clearly a Callincetes, but not similis, sapidus or the rarer species. I also collected some similis in the same sampling trip that i can upload as well, along with some Achelous (spinimanus and gibbesii).
