Richia praefixa ? - Richia praefixa

Richia praefixa ? - Richia praefixa
Near Estes Park, Larimer County, Colorado, USA
September 1, 2017
Attracted to lights. In mountain habitat at about 7800', 9 miles SE of Estes Park (GPS 40.340527, -105.429825).

Searched 10702 through 10995. By far the closest match found was Richia praefixa (#10933). The range and timing of MPG charts agree. Additionally, the biggest cluster of dots is in the same area as where found. If so, this would be a first for BugGuide. See bottom right photo:
http://mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/species.php?hodges=10933

Next closest matches were in subgenus Euxoa: 10711, 10750, 10756, 10852, 10860, and 10863.

Also included is a edited version of the photo to show the wing pattern.

Frassed? Really?
This is likely a rare moth. Though not the best of images, I've done much research, and provided much information to make this a valuable entry.

Normally, it would just be filed in group Richia, or Noctuids, or even simply moths. Not outright deleted and tossed out.

I don't understand this change in approach.

I was thinking Euxoa too, and took a close look at all of them. None seemed quite right though.

I haven't done that much comparative searching, but a lot of Euxoa species show a lot of variation.
