Green Stink Bug on Grasses - Chinavia hilaris

Green Stink Bug on Grasses - Chinavia hilaris
Tracys Landing, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, USA
June 1, 2014
Perhaps this is also a Chinavia hilaris - Green Stink Bug since the scutellum does not have a black dot in each basal corner; and there are dark dots on apical margin of each segment?

I wonder which came first... the chemical defenses or the camouflage? Which is more effective?
