Ancylis subaequana

Ancylis subaequana
Lake George, Hubbard County, Minnesota, USA
June 13, 2018
Size: FW ~ 6.5 mm.
To BL in pine barrens. Though the shape of the dark dorsal patch seems best to match here, there is no native barberry recorded in MN.

Note info page typo
It listed the host as 'northern barberry (Myrica pensylvanica)'. The recorded host is in fact bayberry. Its distribution on Block Island seems at best weakly related to the distribution of that host, so there may be other hosts or additional habitat requirements.

And
worth pointing out that Bayberry is Myrica pensylvanica. Here in MN our nearest relatives are Sweet Gale (M. gale) and Sweet fern (Comptonia peregrina).
