Leafhopper - Penestragania apicalis

Leafhopper - Penestragania apicalis
Richmond Hill, York Region, Ontario, Canada
July 11, 2006
Size: 4.5 mm
A dead leafhopper, but I believe it belongs in the Subfamily Iassinae, for which we don't have many images. Flew to porch light.

Moved
Moved from Leafhoppers.

Stragania apicalis
Another honey-locust feeding leafhopper, with a wider head than S. alabamensis. You obviously have a honey-locust near your house!

Yes, lots of honey-locust in the area
This hopper, like the Macr*opsis that you identified for me, was collected within a dozen yards (in my own yard, of course) of a honey-locust in my neighbour's yard.
Thanks for the ID - another new species for BugGuide!
