Syrphus ribesii .... male. Although the usual visual features for ID can`t be seen, after conversation with Dr. Martin Hauser, it is considered best to place this in Syrphus ribesii as identified by DNA in Bold Systems. However, all Bold identifications should be treated individally as sometimes the database used is not always guaranteed, as we have found...

Bold Systems mentions the dis
Bold Systems mentions the distribution of micotrichiae on the wing and hairs toward tip of hind femora as identifying features. Did you check these features?
