Syrphus torvus
Syrphus torvus.... female. No obvious eye hairs can be seen but they can be difficult to see in pictures. After talking with Dr. Martin Hauser, it is thought that these Syrphus species should be placed as determined by Bold Systems but all Bold identifications should be treated individually as database used for comparison is not always guaranteed, as we have found.

Syrphus torvus has hairs on the eyes which I can`t see on these images.This feature is mentioned in Bold Systems. Have you been able to detect eye hairs?
