Strymon melinus? - Strymon melinus

Strymon melinus? - Strymon melinus
The Huntington Botanical Gardens, Los Angeles County, California, USA
February 23, 2019
At Nancy Barry Munger Terrace, nectarrobbing plant labeled Sphaeralcea ambigua. The ID section for melinus says one red spot near hindwing edge but it seems that many Guide specimens have two

Can be variable but
only has one bold orange / red blocky spot on margin of hindwing. A small red area is usually present at the base of the hindwing. They are described as having one hindwing tail yet I consider that each hindwing has two, a long one and an adjacent shorter one.

Moved from ID Request.
