Polyphemus Moth Caterpillar (?) - Antheraea polyphemus

Polyphemus Moth caterpillar (Antheraea polyphemus) (?)

Observed in hardwood leaf litter. When I re-positioned the caterpillar for a photo it regurgitated a brown liquid (presumably a defense mechanism).
