Endomychus sp.
You're right Boris. It lacks the explanate margin to the elytra that you see in My*cetina. So I got two different endomychids crawling around on fallen Giant Sequoia branches on the same date! I'm not sure about it being E. bi*guttatus. The only specimens I have are from the east coast and the position and size of the spots seems a little different on these western ones.

Nearctica Nomina...
lists two species. Endomychus limbata was originally described as being in Mycetina by Horn in 1870. The Leng catalogue list it as Aphorista limbata (Horn) and as occuring in California. It gives the known distribution (1920-38) for E. biguttatus as being the east coast.
