Cicada #1 For ID - Neotibicen pruinosus

Cicada #1 For ID - Neotibicen pruinosus
Norris City, White County, Illinois, USA

I believe this is Linne's Cicada - Tibicen linnei. Any confirmation?

Moved
Moved from Cicadas.

Tibicen pruinosus (MALE)
Really good stab at it.

Tibicen pruinosus, T. linnei, T. robinsonianus and T. canicularis can all be difficult to distinguish, esp. without the specimen in hand.

However, Tibicen linnei is ususally a little more boldly colored and patterned (more blacks and deeper greens); additionally, the bend of the costal vein in the forewing is a little more pronounced in T. linnei - than is that of the cicada in your image.

For Tibicen linnei, Refer to - linnei

Admittingly, I'm not as familiar with the cicadas from your region as I am with those from the Southeast, however, this image looks a lot like Tibicen pruinosus. Note that the strong white mark posterior to the tymbal cover (midway down the abdomen) is very typical.

For T. pruinosus, Refer to this image - pruinosus

Hope this helps
