Lytrosis cf. unitaria - Lytrosis - male

Lytrosis cf. unitaria - Lytrosis - Male
Rice Woodland Ecological Area, Douglas County, Kansas, USA
May 27, 2004
I'm a big fan of insect camouflage. Any ideas what this is?

I think it may be a zale, rat
I think it may be a zale, rather than a geometer, or...it could be geometer. 8:) I mix them up often--seriously though, this one is probably a geometer.

Try Lytrosis

Nina

Lytrosis
Lytrosis is correct; probably is Lytrosis unitaria.

... although the PM line (particularly near the inner margin), the distal edge of the forewing, and the transverse posterior line of the hindwing have me giving a second look toward other possible Lytrosis.
