What habitat was it in? P. proterva is typically found in woodlands and woodland edges.

Well, it's in a holly but it's at one of my stream sampling sites. So, riparian corridor with mixed hardwoods and some conifers/cedars adjacent our DiversiTree experimental tree plots which were 5 years old at the date of the photo but used to be corn fields. Here's a link to the location. The location is near Pistol Run.
