These things used to creep me out when I was playing in streams as a little girl. Some of them are HUGE! I never got bit by one but I always figured they were biters. I can remember turning over a rock and finding one about 2" long. I threw the rock back, screamed, and ran out of the water. Waaaaay freakier than leeches.
