Teretriosoma paradoxum

Teretriosoma paradoxum
Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico, USA
August 15, 2000
Size: 2.5 mm
Teretriosoma paradoxum was described by Lewis in 1888 from a single specimen from Mexico. I think it is not known from the US and seems quite rare. It is not a typical Teretriosoma- it has a pronotal projection, quite unusual for Histers. I found this one on a dying willow tree in my backyard.

Awesome...
Great find Richard. How did you determine what species it is? Nice addition to the guide.

I would like to discuss your collection with you. Would you please email me at the address at the top of my webpage? Thanks.
